Funeral mass took place Feb. 23 at the Madonna Church on the Hill for Letizia Mauriello, 80, of Weehawken. She passed away Feb. 18. She was born in Naples, Italy. She earned a doctorate in Latin and Classical Studies and taught in Italy prior to moving to the United States and raising a family. She was the wife of Dr. Giuseppe Mauriello, they celebrated their 50th anniversary last year. She was the mother of Magdalen, Mark, Joseph E., Robert, Letizia Mauriello-Ioviero and Anthony Mauriello; grandmother of Mark, Chiara, Joseph, Letizia, Ava, Anthony, Lucia, Beatrice, Marcello, Letizia and Giovanna; sister of Margherita D’Ambrosio, Emanuele Casamassima and the late Giuseppe Casamassima.
