A mass of Christian liturgy was performed Feb. 27 at the Church of Saint Mary, 91 Home Street, Rutherford, for Irene M. Blauvelt, 93, of East Rutherford. She passed away Feb. 23. Irene was born in Jersey City in 1921. She met the love of her life, George, to whom she was married for 61 years. George predeceased her in 2002. She will be deeply missed by her children; Irene Alane and her husband Robert Finnerty, George Jr. and his wife Carol, Robert and his wife Donna, Thomas and his wife Marie, Joseph and his wife Donna Marie and Beverly Blauvelt, her youngest daughter; her 10 grandchildren; Laura Finnerty Paul, David and Deanna Finnerty Linda (Finnerty) and Richard O’Leary, Kathryne (Blauvelt) and James Marinchak, Andrew and Tonya Blauvelt, Allison (Blauvelt) and John DePinto, Stacy Blauvelt, Julia Blauvelt, Emma Blauvelt, James Blauvelt and her 10 great-grandchildren; Olivia and Matthew Paul, Robert, James, John and Mary Finnerty, Joan, Georgia and Victoria O’Leary, and Ariana Blauvelt. Along with many nieces, nephews and a large extended family and friends. Services arranged by the Calhoun-Funeral Home, Rutherford.
