Call for Bayonne artists to paint parachute cloth mural

The Community Development Division’s Mural Program is seeking artists to work on a parachute cloth mural indoors, which will then be adhered to the outside wall of a Broadway building.
The city will begin its second mural initiative, a rendering of Bayonne’s champ, Chuck Wepner, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his world heavyweight title bout with Muhammad Ali, “The Greatest,” on March 24, 1975 and is seeking volunteers wishing to participate.
If interested, send your contact information and relevant experience to bayonnemuralproject@gmail.com or call and leave your contact information at (201) 858-6344.
Officials noted that the project is a community effort of volunteers.
The project is scheduled to be completed by March 20.
This is the second mural project sponsored by Community Development. The first one was completed at 16th Street/DiDomenico Park in 2013.
