Coming off an impressive (3-0) victory, the now (1-1) Wizards hoped to avenge their week one 8-2 trouncing as they faced the (2-0) Knights in a JCC of Bayonne Indoor Soccer Jr. Division rematch. After a slow start, the Knights finally hit their mark as Edward Denne assisted Dylan Subacz on his league leading 12th goal of the season. Not to be outdone, the Wizards answered as Paige Higgins assisted Adonis White on a game tying blast. With both teams battling for open shots, the Knights took a 2-1 lead as Dylan Subacz netted his second goal of the bout with Joyce Gabrael on the assist. The one goal lead was short lived as Paige Higgins notched her second assist by zipping a pass to David Matos who cashed in with his second goal of the season. Knotted at 2 all, the Knights’ defense dug in with Aviv Talmor at net and Toni Rivada teaming up with Amy Gabrael at sweeper to set up an offense surge. In two minutes, the Knights stormed out to a 4-2 advantage with Subacz and Denne picking up goals and assists. Needing a boost, the Wizards went all out with Miguel Vargas and Aaliyana Cifuentes leading the offensive attack. The move paid off as Aaliyana Cifuentes made it 4-3 with a scoring dart off an assist by Jonathan Tom. Keeping a blistering pace, the game took on a playoff feel as the Knights weathered the final minutes to hold on for a 4-3 victory.
