Punjani and Radil’s rule for Comets

Getting underway with the Rockets taking on the Comets the JCC of Bayonne Indoor Soccer Sr. Division kicked off its 2015 season. The Rockets got on the board quickly as Jaden Subacz assisted Harsh Easwar on a scoring boot. Down 1-0 in a hurry, the Comets stormed back to build a 4-1 as Shashwat Punjani and Jared Radil each nailed a pair of goals while Emya Irwin, Kasper Hooks, Jacob Kowal and Punjani each notched assists. As the Comets’ offense hit its stride, their defense also excelled as goalie Drew Radil and sweeper Anushka Chakrabarti kept the Rockets’ high powered offense at bay for most of the contest. With their offensive ranks bottled up, the Rockets unleashed a long distance barrage with Kevin Aguilar, Kyle O’Hara, and Chloe Gregory sailing shots on net. After a heap of close calls, the Rockets finally cashed in as goalie Natallyah Teixeira volleyed a net to net scoring gem to make it a 4-2 bout with 15 minutes remaining. The action stayed heated until the final whistle but the Comets held on for a hard earned 4-2 victory.
