PUCCIO, FILOMENA

A funeral mass took place Jan. 30 at Holy Rosary Church for Filomena “Phil” Puccio, 91, of Jersey City. She passed away Jan. 26 at her home. Born in Jersey City to the late Joseph and Maryann Coletta, she was a lifelong resident. Phil worked for many years in her father’s business, Coletta’s Bar and Grill, before accepting a role as a teacher’s aide with the Jersey City Public School System for 17 years at PS 32, retiring in 1995. She was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, where she was actively involved with the Senior Group and the Rosarians. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George Puccio (2011), her siblings, Anna, Josephine, Nicholas, John, Fiore, Paul and Alfred Coletta. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Nicholas Puccio and his wife Meredith and Stella Santopietro and her husband Michael, her sister, Elizabeth “Liz” Rega and her grandchildren, Brian Puccio and his wife Danielle and Andrew Puccio and his fiance Tiffany. She is also survived by her two great caregivers, Teddy and Francoise, in addition to many nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Introcaso Angelo Funeral Home, Jersey City.
