Barracudas baseball team holding tryouts
The Bayonne Barracudas Travel Baseball Organization will be holding its tryouts for the 2015 spring/summer season on Sunday, Feb. 8 at St. John’s Baptist Parish (PAL Elite Cheer Gym), 15 East 26th St., from 12:30 to 4 p.m.
All those who wish to play on the Barracudas squad during the 2015 season must attend the tryouts.
Participants are asked to arrive promptly for their age brackets. They are: 8U/9U/10U, 12:30 to 2 p.m.; 11U/12U, 1:30 to 3 p.m.; and 13U/14U, 2:30 to 4 p.m.
Attendees are asked to bring a copy of their birth certificate, glove, bat, and sneakers.
There is no parking in the parish lot.

Photography exhibition scheduled for this weekend
Caryn La Greca will present “Picture This,” her opening night photography exhibition on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center, 1050 Kennedy Blvd.

Annual ‘Super Bird Sunday’ slated for Meadowlands
The sixth annual “Super Bird Sunday” nature walk with the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and Bergen County Audubon Society is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. to noon.
The program is free, and open to those of all ages.
This two-hour nature walk at DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst features prizes awarded to any participant who is the first to spot a bird that has the same name as a National Football League team, such as a raven, falcon, eagle or cardinal.
The Meadowlands Environmental Center is at 2 DeKorte Park Plaza in Lyndhurst.

Fundraiser to be held at Hoboken Catholic Academy
Hoboken Catholic Academy will host its second poker/blackjack tournament fundraiser on Friday, Jan. 30.
