88, passed away on January 11, 2015. He was born in Bayonne and resided there all his life. He was a “Gold Seal” Steam Engineer for IMTT in Bayonne for over 33 years, prior to that, he was a Police Officer for Hudson County. An Army veteran, Charles was awarded the Purple Heart for his service to his country during World War II. He was also a lifetime member of Mackenzie Post #165. He is survived by his wife Inez (Nee:Hohmann), Maureen Gallagher, Thomas Gallagher and his fiancée Joan Mackiewicz. He was predeceased by Colin Gallagher. He was “grandpa” to his family’s rescued pets. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to: Hudson County Animal League, P.O. Box 4332, Bayonne, New Jersey, 07002.
