Kennedy Boulevard accident injures three

BAYONNE – Two victims of a midday car accident on Thursday, Jan. 15 had to be extricated from the vehicle they were traveling in following the two-car collision at 27th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard, multiple sources said.

At 1:54 p.m., the Bayonne Fire Department responded to the call of a vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection, according to Chief Gregory Rogers.

“Arriving firefighters witnessed a Chevy Cruze and an overturned Toyota 4Runner that were involved in the accident,” Rogers said in a report.

Two victims trapped in the overturned 4Runner were extricated by firefighters using hydraulic rescue equipment and were reportedly transported to Jersey City Medical Center.

The Cruze’s sole occupant was reportedly assessed by emergency medical service personnel and transported to the hospital, Rogers said.
