Shining stars for you to see

In a long tradition, Bayonne residents, business owners, city government, schools, and others have ornamented the facades of their structures with lights and other decorations to celebrate the holidays, including Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa.
2014 is no different. The lights can be seen everywhere, from a palm tree and snowflake on Centre Lane, and three prancing deer at a West 39th Street home, to two seven-foot-tall, multi-colored wooden soldiers acting as sentries at a West 51st Street house. The creations are bound only by the imagination—or what was sold at The Home Depot, Christmas tree shops, or other retailers.
All types of angels, snowmen, and animals, as well as a number of iterations of jolly old St. Nick can be found on the major thoroughfares as well as side streets of the city.
A front porch on the 200 block of Avenue A was a veritable cornucopia of lights, displayed long into the night.
Many of the displays also feature musical accompaniments with some of the most cherished Christmas and holiday tunes: “The Nutcracker” theme, “Deck the Halls,” and “Feliz Navidad.”
