Giron jumpstarts Bengals win

Faced with slipping into a second place tie with the (3-5) Chargers, the (3-4) Eagles needed a big win against the (5-2) Bengals as they closed out week six in the JCC of Bayonne’s indoor flag football Sr. Division. Getting out a good start, the Eagles made it
8-0 as Erik Solis reeled in a tipped pass for a TD while Ryan Ballance latched onto a two point toss. The Bengals quickly responded as Andres Giron’s TD catch made it 8-6, Eagles. Four plays later, with the Bengals driving for another score the Eagles’ James Bajor came up with his third interception in two games to stall the drive. Unfortunately for the Eagles defense, the Bengals stepped up to return the favor as linebacker Alex Camacho picked off an Eagles’pass deep in the red zone. Once again, the Bengals cashed in as Andres Giron notched his second TD on a 20 yard sweep for a 12-8 Bengal’s lead. After completing two quick darts to Jacob Kowal and Chris Ballance, the Eagles offense once again feel prey to Bengal’s defensive backs as Jared Radil raced an interception full court to paydirt making it an 18-8 bout. Still in the hunt, the Eagles narrowed the Bengal’s lead to 18-14 on a James Bajor 20 yard TD scamper. With the outcome still in question, the Bengals worked the ball up court with pinpoint passes to Ian Giron, Kyle Arano, and a scoring dart to Harsh Easwar. The Bengals finally put the game into the win column as Drew Radil’s two point dive made it a 26-14 final.
