Jersey City PATH service disrupted by raccoon

JERSEY CITY — In a tweet issued over the weekend, Mayor Steven Fulop said a raccoon was the cause of a disruption to PATH train service on Friday night, as well as the loss of power to more than 10,000 PSE&G customers.
Fulop said the raccoon, which got into the switching station, apparently connected with the electrical elements, causing the system to shut down.
“A little gruesome, but this is the raccoon that caused the blackout,” Fulop said in his Tweet as he posted photos of the mangled animal.
