To the Editor:
Recently, the St. Ann’s Society of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish held its 80th Annual Fundraiser, “Anchors Aweigh” at The Chandelier. On behalf of the society, I would like to thank The Chandelier’s managers, Victor, Hugo, and their staff for the excellent food and hospitality that they always provide us.
We would like to thank Pizza Master, Carmela’s, The Chandelier, Da Noi’s, Longhorn’s, San Vito, Senerchia Meat Market & Deli, Il Guardiola, Chris’ Corner, Benanti Deli, Piccolino, Mediterraneo, Rincon De Espana, and Alex & Terry’s Polish Deli for their donations to our Dine Around Gift Table. And thanks for all of the members who purchased and donated gift certificates. Special thanks to our one and only chocolates store, Al Richards. His chocolates are so delicious and the basket he donated once again was outstanding. Our hope is that everyone would patronize these establishments that we are so fortunate to have.
Again, I would also like to thank Frank Anthony and Mathew for their help transporting all the gifts to The Chandelier.
We extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of you who attended our brunch and who come and support us every year. We hope everyone enjoyed it and had a beautiful Sunday afternoon with family and friends!
Special thanks to the family of our late Past President, Carmella Hyman. Ray and Laura Hyman and their family donated a beautiful and thoughtful gift titled “Carmella’s Favorite Things.” It brought back her spirit with the society she loved so much and we miss her. I was so happy to know that one of my close friends, Toni Faia, won it.
My sincere gratitude and a round of applause go to the entire committee and the St. Ann’s members who assisted me throughout the preparation and completion of the fundraiser. A shout out to Rosalie Brown for her help every step of the way. Thanks to Rachel Della Rosa and Emmie Sottile for the coordination of the sale of tickets and their extra help. They are the reason this organization has been in existence for 80 years. We have such a wonderful group that are so dedicated to St. Ann and I know she is very pleased.
