Camacho stars as Bengals win in O.T.

Fueled by a huge comeback win in game one, the (4-2) Bengals set their sights on downing the (2-4) Chargers in their week five JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division night cap. Right from the start, both teams teed off with a sense of urgency as the Bengals’ Jared Radil rushed for a TD only to be trumped by the Charges’ Kevin Aguilar’s 20 yard TD catch and Jaden Subacz’s two point dash. Up 8-6, the Chargers hit paydirt again as Jalen Nash galloped wire to wire for a TD making it 14-6, Chargers. The Bengals quickly bounced back as Drew Radil hauled in a 10 yard TD toss with Alex Camacho’s two point grab knotting the brawl at 14-14. One play later, the Bengals’ changed the tone of the game as Camacho picked off a tipped ball and returned it to the Chargers 15 yardline. Undaunted by the score or the clock, Chargers’ QB Brandon Kobryn willed his squad down court with pinpoint passes before hitting Jale Nash on a 20 yard swing pass for the game tying score. Just before overtime, the Bengals once again went on a march with Andres Giron, Harsh Easwar, Ian Giron, and Kyle Arano each pitching in but the Chargers’ defense finally dug in to force overtime. Winning the coin toss but deferring to play defense first, the Chargers watched the Bengals misfire twice before Alex Camacho pulled in a 20 yard TD dart and a two point pass making it 28-20. The Chargers had three shots to tie the bout but the Bengals’ defense stepped up to keep the Chargers at bay to clinch a 28-20 overtime victory. A special mention must be givin to the Chargers’ Kasper Hooks for his vast improvement during weeks four and five.
