Funeral mass was offered Nov. 12 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel on Broadway in North Bergen for Angela DeRosso Doimi of North Bergen. She passed away Nov 7 after a two and a half year struggle with complications from a stroke. She was born in Fair Point, Ohio, the eldest daughter of Giovanni and Maria DeRosso, who immigrated from Velo D’Astico Italy in 1921 and returned there in 1931 with their five small children. Angela grew up in Schio, Italy in a very close-knit family that became even closer after the death of their father in 1936 and the daily, years-long hardships of living through WWII. She returned to the US in 1951 and was wed in 1954 to Severino Doimi, her husband of 58 years until his death in 2012.
She leaves behind three sisters, Terezza Delle Tezze, Lydia Cavalli and Yolanda Lain. She is survived by her two children, Alfred Doimi of Ringoes and Cynthia Erickson of Carbondale, Colo., their spouses, and five grandchildren: Erin Maria, Emmalee, Zachary, Dana and Cade. She was preceded in death by her brother Santo DeRosso. Services arranged by the Vainieri Funeral Home, North Bergen.
