Hoboken’s 2014 Halloween Ragamuffin Parade went off without a hitch — though not without a witch. Or two.
The annual march down Washington Street on Oct. 31 featured floats, freaks, and the Hoboken High School marching band, but the main attraction as always was babies in costume.
The second star in Hoboken baby make-believe firmament after June’s Baby Parade, the Ragamuffin Parade is a strong draw in a community that is currently bustling with bambini.
The parade began at 13th and Washington streets and worked its way downtown before concluding at the Little League Field at Fifth and Hudson streets, where a costume contest was held, with prizes awarded in five age categories.
The event is organized yearly by the city of Hoboken with the support of businesses in town. This year, the gold sponsor was CarePoint Health, which runs Hoboken University Medical Center.
