Funeral mass took place Oct. 6 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield, for George F. Schlereth, 83, of Waldwick, born and raised in Hoboken, formerly of Bergenfield. He passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 1. He was the husband of the late Muriel; father of Robin and her husband Michael Juliano and George Jr and his wife Flor; brother of Christine Sheridan and the late Kathleen Schlereth; grandfather to Tara Giannolla and Jason English; great grandfather to Ava Muriel English, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was a retired firefighter with the Hoboken Fire Department, a retired stagehand with Local One IATSE, and a member of VFW Post 6467 in Bergenfield. Services arranged by the Riewerts Memorial Home, Bergenfield.
