To the Editor:
Words do not seem enough to express a way to say thank you for supporting and donating to the charity softball game for Taylor Redondo. It was such a beautiful day for a softball game and we have so many wonderful memories. A special thank you to Taylor’s brothers at the Bayonne Masonic Peninsula Lodge #99 and the Bayonne Fire Department for coming together and making this event possible.
Thank you for your generosity, your support, your outpouring of dedication to everyone who purchased raffle tickets, and to all the sponsors who donated for a sponsor spot on the t-shirt. Thank you to the Masonic Lodge for having an after-party with amazing food all donated from Mama Rosa’s. Thanks to our friends and family who were part of this day for Taylor. Having you all there meant a lot to us. You have always been there to support me and Taylor in every way possible from day one.
A special shout out to our new friend, Lynnette Ervin, who flew all the way from Illinois to meet Taylor and his support team. Lynnette has been in our lives since Mother’s Day of this year. Taylor and Lynnette were matched on a site called “Who I Run 4.” This site matches a runner with a special someone who cannot run for her or himself. The runners are able to find a whole new sense of purpose in their running while sharing who they are running for and bringing awareness to disabilities. Lynnette Runs 4 Taylor to raise awareness for cerebral palsy. When Lynnette receives a medal for a race Taylor also gets a medal. We have made a trophy wall to display them all. Taylor loves getting his special packages from Lynnette. She is now a member of the Redondo family.
I am so grateful for this opportunity. With all your help a vehicle chair lift for Taylor’s wheelchair is one step closer to a reality.
Again, thank you all. We are truly blessed to have you all in our lives.
MELISSA AND TAYLOR REDONDO
