BREAKING: Bayonne to investigate cruel burning of kitten’s tail

BAYONNE – A Bayonne resident has reported a case of animal cruelty to local authorities – a case of a cat’s tailed being burned and nearly severed.
Dottie Stalter said that on Tuesday evening she and a friend discovered that one of a group of four cats she has seen at the corner of Broadway and 51st Street had been abused.
“It was an appalling and upsetting sight,” Stalter said. “One of the kitten’s tails had been set on fire and is burned so badly it is almost severed.
Stalter took photographs of the cat and showed them to a city veterinarian who said the tail would have to be amputated.
She said she will be taking the animal to the veterinarian soon.
Stalter has contacted the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to investigate the matter. – Joseph Passantino
