A funeral mass was offered Sept.13 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for Louis Barba, 94, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He passed away peacefully on Sept. 9. Louis recently retired after over 50 years of service for Global Terminal, Jersey City, where he was a longshoreman and a clerk. He was devoted to his family and was at his happiest when spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the husband of the late Mary Barba; father of Carol Benavides, Thomas Barba and his wife Deborah, Janet Ventura and husband Brian; brother of Carol and her husband Lucian Lizul, and the late Joseph, Anthony and Edward Barba; grandfather of Marylou, Thomas, Michael, Christine Benavides, Teri Hoffman, Paige, Austin, Lauren Ventura; great grandfather of Angelica, Kira and Kaylee Benavides.
