BAYONNE – Mayor Jimmy Davis will show his support for feeding the hungry by participating in ShopRite’s “Bag Hunger” event on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m.
September is National Hunger Action Month, and the event is intended to raise awareness and funding for local community food banks.
Mayor Davis will be serving as an honorary grocery bagger to cashiers at the ShopRite of Bayonne, which will be accepting monetary donations to help fill the shelves of community food banks.
Davis will be joined by Joe Pagano, Inserra Supermarkets produce supervisor; and Donna DeVourney and Kathy Mittenzwei from St. Mary/St. Andrew’s Food Pantry.
The Bayonne ShopRite is located at 583 Avenue C, between 25th and 26th streets.
