Hoboken to hold annual September 11th Interfaith Memorial Service Thursday

HOBOKEN—The City of Hoboken will hold its annual September Interfaith Memorial Service in honor of the victims, their families, the City of Hoboken, and the entire nation this Thursday.
Hoboken lost 57 residents on September 11, 2001, the most of any zipcode in the United States.
At the service, a list of the Hobokenites who died in the 9/11 attacks will be read, followed by remarks from various clergy from the Hoboken area.
On Sunday, the Hoboken Reporter covered the renewed efforts of Mayor Dawn Zimmer and the Hoboken City Council to secure funding for a permanent monument dedicated to Hoboken’s 9/11 victims. Currently, the only physical memorial to the events of 9/11 in Hoboken is a stand of 40 gingko biloba trees in Pier A Park.
The service will take place on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. on the southeast corner of Hoboken’s Pier A Park. All are invited to attend.
