Thank you for your dedication

Dear Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the board of Commissioners and Mayor Brian P. Stack for their dedication to Public Safety. Throughout this summer it was a treat to see all the outdoor seminars being held in all parts of the city. The recent emphasis on fire prevention is something I am very happy to see. As many know already, our city has been hit with tragic fires recently and it is great to see our mayor being proactive in order to prevent any more fires from happening. Having the seminars throughout the city at night is an added bonus to many of us who work late. I thank the mayor for always accommodating his schedule to meet the needs of his constituents and trying to maximize the attendance of each event. Being able to meet the Deputy Chief of the Fire Department and getting the chance to tour an active fire engine is something my nephew is still raving about.
I was fortunate to attend many of the seminars that have been held this summer and it was nice to see over 100 residents in attendance at each of them. The mayor was kind enough to purchase brand new battery operated smoke detectors for all residents free of charge as an added barrier of safety. Events like this are what make our city unique and tight-knit. Rumor has it the mayor has scheduled 25 new outdoor police community meetings for the month of September. Initiatives like this will continue to drive crime down and push criminals away from our city. Keep up the great Mayor Stack we all appreciate and support your hard work.

Respectfully,
Waleed Miqbel
