Let us all continue to be vocal and active in our community

To the Editor:

Over the last 12 months, I have done my best to speak my mind. I will continue to do so because I believe in freedom of speech and I am happy to fight for a better community for all who live and work here in Bayonne. I have researched thoroughly before I have included facts in my writings. I am proud to continue doing this because I believe that there are many people who are sick and tired of the same old politics, the same old rhetoric, the same old promises.
During the recent campaign, I sent numerous requests to City Hall requesting information, specifically regarding the recent fraud that involved several contractors and plumbers and the Department of Community Development. I was rebuffed by City Hall regarding these requests previously and I will be submitting these requests once again. What I am trying to ultimately find out is simply, who the contractors were and if these contractors are still actively working in Bayonne. In my opinion, any contractors who were involved in this fraud should be fined and possibly banned from doing business in Bayonne. If these contractors were unethical doing business in City Hall, what would stop them from ripping off the residents of Bayonne?
We the people voted loud and clear for an honest, transparent, and proactive government for the people and by the people. It is up to all of us to work together hand in hand for the future of Bayonne. I look forward to the challenges ahead and working together with all of you for a better community and a brighter future. I know I may only be one voice but as Robert F. Kennedy once said, “The purpose of life is to contribute in some way to making things better.”
