BAYONNE – The Bayonne Bridge will be closed from 11:59 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15 until 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, as work proceeds on the “Raise the Roadway” project.
Motorists are urged to use the Goethals Bridge.
The Port Authority’s free weekend shuttle service will run on Friday, Aug. 15 until 8 p.m. The shuttle service will be suspended on Saturday, Aug. 16 and Sunday, Aug. 17 due to the weekend closure.

The $1.3 billion Raise the Roadway project is designed to raise the clearance under the crossing to 215 feet to allow larger, more modern ships to travel under the bridge.
