Homeless woman’s kitten missing

HOBOKEN — Joan, a homeless woman, is a familiar sight in Hoboken. She traveled around town for many years with her well-fed white cat Sugar. Sugar died last December from natural causes.
About two months ago, Joan got a new cat — a small black kitten.
A week ago Saturday, according to Joan, she was sleeping in the park, not far from the police station, when voices awoke her, saying, “They stole your kitten!”
She got up, but couldn’t see who took the black cat.
Joan said that she wasn’t sure who took it. If it was a concerned animal lover, she said, they could have simply complained to the police. She said that this had happened before with Sugar, and when the police did a wellness check, they determined that Joan had been taking great care of her.
If you have information about Joan’s kitten, she said, please contact the Hoboken police so they can find her and give her the information.
