JERSEY CITY — PATH riders traveling to New York City and Jersey City for the Fourth of July evening fireworks will be able to use the World Trade Center (WTC) and Exchange Place stations on Friday night into early Saturday morning, with ongoing work briefly suspended to accommodate the expected large crowds.
The WTC and Exchange Street PATH stations then will close throughout the remainder of the weekend to accommodate the ongoing work, beginning at approximately 2 a.m. Saturday morning and reopening for the Monday morning return-to-work rush hours. Alternative ferry service between Jersey City and Lower Manhattan will operate on Saturday and Sunday.
On Friday, July 4, two service lines will run: The Journal Square-33rd Street (via Hoboken) line will be operating every 10 minutes for most of the day and the World Trade Center-Newark line will run every 15 minutes for most of the day, making stops at Exchange Place and the WTC stations. Riders are encouraged to check for weekend schedule changes posted on the Port Authority website, PATHAlerts and Twitter, as well as on the Toll Free Information Line: 1-800-234-PATH (7284).
