JERSEY CITY — Heightening fears that Jersey City may be in for a long hot and violent summer like last year, Jersey City authorities confirmed that a man was found shot to death on June 20 at Grant Street between Martin Luther King Drive and Ocean Avenue.
Police responded to the area on the report of a man bleeding found the man in front of a Grant Street house, local officials said.
Although crime has been on decline over the last few years, the murder rate spiked in 2013, largely due to a string of killings over the summer.
The latest death is the 12 th murder in Jersey City this year.
