Hoboken takes steps to boot fewer cars

HOBOKEN — After news stories, a TV investigative report, and complaints from visitors and residents alike, the city of Hoboken may scale back the aggressive enforcement of its parking rules — particularly booting cars.
At last Wednesday’s council meeting, the director of parking said that the city may stop booting residents’ cars with expired permits.
The city is also working on a long-term master plan for parking, and is soliciting resident input.
