Funeral mass took place June 6 at St. Francis Church, Hoboken, for Philip A. Trapani, 55. He died May 30 at his home in Hallandale Beach, Fla. Born in Hoboken, he lived and worked there until 1999, when he moved to Florida. He was a graduate of Hoboken High School and a member the varsity football team. Phil worked for many years with his father at Trapani Jewelers in Hoboken. He later owned and operated Cafe Trapani where he was affectionately known as “The Prince of Pies.”
Phil was the son of the late Vincent and Louise Trapani. He is survived by his wife Severina and their son Vincent Trapani. He is also survived by his brothers Robert and Peter Trapani and sister Dana Trapani Masso and predeceased by brothers Thomas and Vincent Trapani and nephew Peter John Trapani. Also surviving are nieces Elizabeth and Victoria Trapani, Francesca Masso and nephew Anthony Masso. Services arranged by the Earl F. Bosworth Funeral Home, Hoboken.
