LAVELLE, JOSEPH C.

A funeral mass took place June 6 at St. Ann’s Church for Joseph C. Lavelle, 87, of Hoboken. He passed away peacefully at the Atrium Assisted Living in Jersey City on May 31. Joe was a retired supervisor for the Parking Authority in the City of Hoboken, as well as a platform worker for many years with Roadway Express, and a helpful assistant at the famous Appicella’s Fish Market in Hoboken. Mr. Lavelle was a United States Army veteran.
He was predeceased by his wife Antoinette in 2012. Surviving are his two sons, Francis “Frank” and his wife Anne, and Joseph and his wife Chris Ann; a granddaughter Mary Ann; and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was also predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Louis; and a sister, Agnes Riccardi. A third degree member of the Hoboken Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion Post 107, Joseph dedicated much time as a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Ann’s Church. Services arranged by the Failla Funeral Home, Hoboken.
