Feeley’s ten net gems fuel Bruins

With the playoff picture still muddled, the (3-3-1) Bruins and the (2-3-1) Red Wings took to the court in hopes of clarifying their spot in the JCC of Bayonne’s Jr. Division Floor Hockey “Championship Tournament.” After surrendering a goal to the Red Wings’ Jake Peregrin with just 30 seconds ticked away, the Bruins settled in and took control. Down 1-0, the Bruins exploded for a 5 goal stampede with a team co-captain Megan Feeley pumping in 5 goals as Harsh Easwar (1 assist), Kaspar Hooks (3 assists), and Arya Deshmukh (1 assist) racked up assists. Rocked by the Bruins’ surge, the Red Wings fired back as Victor Mendolaro assisted Jake Peregrin on his second and third goal of the bout to cut the Bruins’ lead to 5-3. With her stick still smoking, Feeley fired in her sixth goal of the game as the Bruins’ lead grew to 6-3. Sensing the offensive tone of the duel, the Red Wings spiced up their attack as Sebastian Valles, Jordan Neustein, and Alejandra Valles railed passes up court. At the halfway point, the Red Wings cashed in again as Michael “Stonewall” McCollum assisted Michael Egan on a net jarring shot to close within 2 goals at 6-4, Bruins. Finally boxed in by the Red Wings’ feisty defense, the Bruins’ Megan Feeley turned the tables and darted a pinpoint pass to Kasper Hooks who made it 7-4 Bruins with a scoring swipe. Heading into the final 10 minutes, things started to get dicey for the Bruins as the Egan, Perregrin duo teamed up for two quick Red Wings’ goals as Peregrin’s 4th and 5th goal made it 7-6, Bruins. Playing short handed with team co-captain, Declan McCormick, off to soccer practice, the Bruins once again found their stalwart as Feeley closed out the brawl with four more goals, 10 in all, while Kasper Hooks piled on another as the Bruins chalked-up a 12-6 victory.
