JERSEY CITY — Used to be that Jersey City would have its own fireworks show at Liberty State Park. Then Macy’s moved their show to the Hudson River and Jersey City ceased theirs.
Well, this year Macy’s is on the East River, so Jersey City is bringing fireworks back!
Mayor Steve Fulop posted on Facebook on Tuesday: “As we look to the 4th of July, today we announced that we will be returning the Jersey City 4th of July Fireworks. This year it will be bigger than ever before thanks to our corporate sponsors Budweiser, Suntex Marina, Fox & Friends, and of course huge assistance from the State of NJ and the superintendent of LSP.
We expect over 100,000 people for the free concert during the day, the festival prior and of course the large fireworks display. Dust off the BBQ and invite friends/family. Hope to see you there!”
