Romano runs on results

Dear Editor:
Anthony Romano, running on Line 4B in the Democratic Primary on June 3, deserves to be re-elected as our freeholder. For the past six years he has fairly represented the residents of Hoboken and Jersey City Heights, whether or not they were his political supporters. During his tenure as freeholder, county roads in Hoboken have been better maintained than our local roads, particularly during snowstorms. He has secured millions of dollars for land acquisition for parks, for open space, for historic preservation and “green” initiatives. More students from our district than ever attend the county high schools. As freeholder, Anthony has been accessible, responsive and proactive in working to serve the best interests of Hoboken and Jersey City Heights; he has noticeably improved the services delivered by the county government for our tax dollar. He has a served Hoboken as a teacher, police officer and elected official. His opponent has a history of political service to one cartel. This primary season we have a clear choice. Let’s keep Freeholder Anthony Romano working for us.
Hudson County political bosses are counting on loyal Democrat voters to simply vote “down the line.” We urge our neighbors in Hoboken and Jersey City Heights to reject back room machine politics and nominate a proven public servant: please vote for Anthony Romano, line 4B in the Democratic Primary on Tuesday, June 3. Thank you for your consideration.
