A funeral mass took place May 17 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Jersey City, for Anthony J. Aiello, 81, of Carteret. He died May 13 at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Carteret for several years. He was the proprietor at Tony’s Deli on McAdoo Ave. Jersey City for 35 years, retiring in 1995. He was a US Army veteran. Surviving are his wife Lois Aiello, sons Gary and his wife Suzanne, Anthony and his wife Lauren, and grandchildren Christopher, Melissa, Nicholas, Kristyn and Carissa Aiello.
