BYSA here to stay

To the Editor:

Contrary to rumors circulating on various social networking sites, Bayonne Youth Soccer Association is a thriving organization and we have no intention of closing operations.  Founded in 1977, BYSA has promoted participation in the sport of soccer for the past 37 years through the organization, operation, and maintenance of a competitive soccer program for the youth of Bayonne.  We are a nonprofit corporation run by licensed volunteers who dedicate their time and effort to the mission of educating children with respect to the game of soccer and the value of team sports.  BYSA is regulated and sanctioned by the New Jersey Youth Soccer Association and US Club Soccer and its members are required to complete mandatory Kids Safe background disclosures and a concussion-training course.  Our recreation and travel divisions consist of over 800 players from the City of Bayonne and we look forward to continuing operations for future generations of soccer players.  Registration for the fall 2014 season closes on May 31and information can be obtained on our website – bysa.com or by emailing bysa@bysa.com.
