A mass of Christian burial was celebrated March 27 at St. John the Baptist Church for Mary J. Grieshaber, 75. She passed away peacefully on March 23 surrounded by her family and friends. Born in New York City, Mary had resided in Jersey City for most of her life. She was a wife, mother and homemaker, as well as a music educator and dancer, having taught both dance and piano. A longtime and faithful parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church, Mary was deeply devoted to The Blessed Mother and was instrumental in forming The Intercessory Prayer Group at St. John’s, praying the rosary for the many intentions they would receive.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Richard J. Grieshaber; her parents, Catherine and Joseph Flieder and her brother Joseph. Mary is survived by her sons Richard Grieshaber and his wife Kathleen and Kevin Grieshaber and his wife Yvette. Mary is also survived by many extended family and friends throughout the Jersey City and St. John’s Parish communities. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
