Funeral services were offered March 7 for George R. Olivier of Nedrow, N.Y., formerly of Jersey City. He passed away March 2. George was born in Jersey City and was a lifetime resident before moving to New York three years ago to be closer to his family. He was a technician for Verizon in Jersey City for over 30 years, retiring at age 55. George was an Army veteran serving his country from 1970 to 1972. He was the husband of Rose (nee Rollins) Olivier; father of George W., Patrick, Cassandra Courteaux, Kerri Smart, Erin Job, Jennine Allen, Stacy Olivier and the late Peter Olivier. Also survived by four brothers, two sisters, and 25 grandchildren. Services arranged by the Houghton Funeral Home, Jersey City.
