Wizards win as Wolf leads

With a (3-0) record and the league’s top offense and defense, the Wizards have dominated the JCC of Bayonne’s Indoor Soccer’s Jr. Division. For the (1-2) Dragons, the early going has been a test of fortitude as they battle to get on track. With T. J. Wolf at the helm, the Wizards remained unstoppable as Wolf lit up the scoreboard with 5 goals in the first twenty minutes. Also hitting their mark was Harsh Easwar who tallied his first goal while Kasper Hooks (3), Declan McCormick, (2), and Michael Cordero (1) racked up assists. Down 6-0, the Dragons plowed forward as Nicholas Resua, Ryan “Iron” Griffin, and Matt Miceli gripped the leadership reins to mount a scoring charge as Miceli assisted Griffin on the Dragons’ first goal of the bout. With a commanding 6-1 lead, the Wizards bulldozed in two more scoring gems as McCormick and Wolf put the “Wiz kids” up 8-1. Playing with all the fervor of a team in a 0-0 brawl, the Dragons marched on with Anthony Frasier and Arya Deshmakh defending their turf while Miceli and Griffin once again teamed up as Miceli sliced a pass to Griffin who nailed his 12th goal of the season. As time ran down, the Wizards climbed to (4-0) while the Dragons fell to (1-3) in a hard fought 8-2 decision.
