MOSCATO, BROTHER

A mass of Christian burial was held Feb. 22 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Jersey City, for Brother Moscato, 79, of Ocean Township, formerly of Jersey City. He passed away surrounded by his family on Feb. 16. Brother was born Phillip Bernard Moscato to the late Leonard and Catherine Moscato and raised in the Marion Section of Jersey City. He also lived on the east coast of Florida before moving to Ocean Township three years ago. Brother was a restaurateur, owning 40-plus restaurants along the east coast. He was also a demolition expert involved in construction projects at the original World Trade Center in the late 1960s, the original Giants Stadium project in the 1970s and the development of casinos in Atlantic City. Brother was a long time member of the Italian American Club, Logan Ave., Jersey City and the Columbus Club in Lyndhurst. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed his motorcycle, cigars, traveling abroad and spending time with his grandchildren. Brother was a Korean War Veteran and served as a paratrooper in the United States Army. Brother was the husband of Angela “Angel” Moscato; father of Phillip Moscato, Jr., Kathy Ann Moscato Farese and Vicky Munro; brother of Mary Ann Moscato. Also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services arranged by the Riotto Funeral Home, Jersey City.
