LYLE, JAMES M.

Funeral mass was offered Feb. 20 at St. Francis R.C. Church, Hoboken, for James M. Lyle, 87. He passed away peacefully at Staten Island University Hospital on Feb. 16. Born in Montreal, Canada, he came to the United States in 1934. Mr. Lyle was employed with the Housing Authority of the City of Hoboken for more than 35 years; prior to that, worked for the Regal Electric Corporation. He became a United States citizen in 1955 and served this country in the United States Army, enlisting in 1943 and honorably discharged in 1947. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine six years ago; as well as a son, James before her. Mr. Lyle was also predeceased by nine siblings. Surviving are two daughters, Catherine Ocasio and her husband Wilfredo, Regina Cannon and her husband Edward; a son, retired Hoboken police officer Richard Lyle and his wife Rosemary; five grandchildren, Brandon, Matthew, Christina, James, and Edward; and one great grandchild, Thomas. Services arranged by the Failla Funeral Home, Hoboken.
