Bayonne residents asked to move cars from major thoroughfares by this weekend for street cleaning

BAYONNE – Mayor Mark A. Smith announced that the city and contractors will do curb-to-curb snow removal on several major streets this weekend of Feb. 14 to 17.
“The city of Bayonne is removing snow from the street on several main avenues, in order to increase the safety of our residents,” Mayor Smith said. “We would ask the public’s cooperation to accomplish this goal.”
The mayor’s office announced the additional snow removals for the weekend following the initial Friday, Feb. 14, snow removal on Avenue C:

*Saturday, Feb. 15: Avenue A and Avenue B
*Sunday, Feb. 16: Broadway
*Monday, Feb. 17: Avenue E and other major thoroughfares

“On the day a street is scheduled for snow removal, there should be no parking from 7 a.m. until the removal operation has been completed,” Smith said. “After snow removal is done in a particular area, people can move their cars back to the completed section of the avenue. Any cars that remain when snow is being removed will be relocated within the neighborhood where they were parked.”
“I would like to thank the people of Bayonne for their help and cooperation in this important operation,” the mayor said. – Joseph Passantino
