To the Editor:
Recently, this newspaper ran a full-page advertisement (!) sponsored by the BOE paid by the taxpayers of Bayonne. In my opinion (only one?), I found it curious and mystifying. Why?
First of all, the teachers have been without a contract since 2010.The calendar indicates this is 2014 (…and counting).
Second, the word “available” appears. In the vocabulary of the BOE, is this the same as “accessible?”(See above paragraph).
Third, dollar figures were mentioned. I wonder about the amount of tax money raised over the past two years based on 2-percent increase (paid by taxpayers).
Fourth, along these same lines, was a figure ever published regarding the money spent on “Academy” renovation, gym floors, bathrooms, sensor lighting?
Finally, every newspaper article, school meeting, college email, etc., includes praise regarding “student achievement.” Shouldn’t the Board of Egad (aka BOE) recognize the source (aka teacher)?
Or did I miss something?
