St. Anthony students and community service

All high schools require their seniors to complete a specific number of community service hours. Seniors expecting to graduate St. Anthony High School in Jersey City need to finish 100 hours! That is no easy task, especially when the students have a rigorous academic calendar, and a demanding athletic schedule.
“They are out there helping people, especially at the Boys and Girls Club,” said Ralph Dinelli, guidance counselor and Dean of Students. Students are tutoring other kids, collecting food, distributing toys, and helping at school day care programs. Community service teaches seniors that they have the talent, wisdom, and intellect to immediately be a positive asset to society.
For 20 years, St. Anthony has achieved a 100 percent college acceptance rate.
