Funeral mass took place Jan. 20 at St. Aedan’s Church for Orazio Cupo, 85, of Jersey City. He passed away Jan. 14 with his family at his side. Born in Palomonte, Salerno, Italy, he immigrated to Jersey City in 1962. Orazio was a bridge operator for 20 years for the Department of Transportation. Orazio also helped in his son’s restaurant, La Strada in Millburn. His passion was spending time with his grandchildren and also enjoyed to travel visiting relatives overseas. Orazio was the husband for 61 years to Domenica; father of Sebastian Cupo and wife Evelyn, Gerard Cupo, Frank Cupo and wife Teresa; grandfather of Domenica Godlesky, Christina Carey, Franky and Elia Cupo; great-grandfather of Genevieve and Arianna; brother of Giuseppe, Angelina and Geraldina of Italy and Filomena of Australia.
