CHAMPION BENGALS

The stage is set for the JCC of Bayonne’s 2013 Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division Championship bout as the (11-1) Bengals lock horns with (6-7) Chargers. Right from the get go, the Bengals proved they meant business as TDs by James Bajor, Michael Tedesco, Jared and Drew Radil propelled the men in black out to a 24-0 advantage. While the Bengals stormed the endzone, the Chargers finally put up a score as their spectacular rookie Ahmad McGill latched onto a 30 yard TD strike. Leading 24-6, the Bengals’ James Bajor found paydirt for a second time with a twisting TD jaunt to make it 30-6, Bengals. After dominating the action during the Chargers’ playoff victory, James Johnson returned to his winning form as Johnson battled up court for a TD to cut the Bengals’ lead to 30-12. The Bengals continued to keep the surging Chargers in their wake as James Bajor’s third TD of the game made it 36-12. Undaunted, the Chargers plowed forward as Ryan Giocoli and Alejandro Cifuentes secured catches to set up two TD dashes by Johnson as a late surge by the Chargers cut the Bengals’ lead to 36-24. With their lead reduced to 12 points, the Bengals turned to their playmaker Malachi Smith to give them some breathing room and Smith quickly answered with a goal to goal TD grab and a two point run stretching the Bengals advantage to 44-24. As the outcome loomed near, the Bengals’ Lucas Neukirchner put the finishing touches on the victory as he took the reins at QB to runt out the clock.
