City and county workers work tirelessly during storm

Dear Editor:
Effective job by city and county workers during storms and emergencies, we mostly yell at or praise the administration for the results that occur. I wanted to take a brief moment to thank all of the city and county workers for all of their tireless work during the first snowstorm of 2014. I cannot speak for the results of the entire city but they did great work in the sections of the Heights where I traveled.
In previous years, the side streets at the end of the Heights would be ignored, the snow would pile up blocking parking spots for residents, and the line of vision of drivers would be blocked at dangerous intersections by mountains of snow. This year, workers cleaned in our area multiple times, organized the snow in piles that did not block pedestrian or vehicular traffic, and there seemed to be coordination between city and county departments. The efforts were obvious in our area with many residents giving thanks and praise for the efforts of the folks working the plows and salt trucks. With that in mind, thank you to all of the city and county workers who did their part to keep residents safe before, during, and after this recent storm. Hopefully, this proactive approach continues throughout this year and into the future.
