Dear Editor:
Frank Sinatra was born Dec. 12, 1915 in Hoboken, and subsequently became a giant in the entertainment industry, singing with the big bands, radio, movies, television, concerts…he did it all, his way.
It is with some measure of joy that we celebrate Ole Blue Eyes’ 98th birthday. Stars of today and yesteryear, the likes of the All-Star Jazz Trio featuring vocalist Peggy King as well as music luninaries Harry Prime, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Michael Buble, singer/guitarist Billy Jon Coogan, actress Jane Powell, producer/program director Chris Valenti who runs an internet station (WYYR.com) from Vero Beach, Fla., that features big band music and big band vocalists 24/7 and conductor/arranger/musician George Roumanis are invited to join me and millions of Frankie-philes around the globe in a Happy Birthday toast to Francis Albert Sinatra on this occasion.
He was truly ‘King of the hill, top of the list.’
Thank you for the records, films and those great in-person appearances that kept us entertained for many years via CDs, DVDs and continue to this very day!
Herb Stark
