Funeral mass was offered Dec. 16 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Jersey City, for Joan A. Guanci, 78, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Dec. 12. Joan was a bookkeeper for C&L Warehouse, Inc., Bayonne and a clerk for Jersey City Water Department. Joan was the wife of the late John Guanci; mother of John Cupo, Sr. and wife Linda, Al Cupo, Sr. and wife Theresa, Chris Cupo and wife Anne, Susan Gallagher and husband Michael, Anthony Cupo and wife Theresa; grandmother of Nicole, Tara, Robyn, John, Albert, Jr., Andrew, Nicholas, Brittany, Erika, Isabella and Ava Cupo, Robert Manzo, Michael and Tyler Gallagher; great-grandmother of Juliana Heinen; sister of Edward and Richard Hanley, Mary Vassilatos and the late Lorraine Hawks.
