Funeral services took place Dec. 14 for Dennis James Columbo, 67, of Jersey City. He passed away Dec. 3. Dennis was born in Jersey City to Henry and Agnes Columbo. In March of 1966, Dennis joined the United States Marine Corps and fought in the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge in February 1968. When Dennis returned home, he attended Wagner College in 1976 and received his Master’s Degree in Business Finance and Marketing in 1978. Dennis has been an executive in the tire and automotive industry for all of his career, starting at Firestone, vice president of Englewood Tire Distributors, Olsen Tire, and retiring from Monroe Muffler and Brake Service. Dennis is survived by his wife of 42 years, Edna Diane Columbo, his daughter Cindy Diane Columbo-Hokrein, his son Eric Columbo, his two grandsons, Bradley Hokrein and Justin Hokrein and his brother Thomas Columbo, Sr. Dennis was very hard working, to be a Marine and to his family.
